In our "long" lives thus far, we've come to realize that there are fewer "D"s in the world than any other personality in the DISC assessment. D's are the "eagle" personality, the drivers, the movers and shakers, the leaders. While it's good that there aren't too many leaders, we also notice a deplorable lack of leaders with a clear compass and the skills to truly lead others. Just because you're a born leader doesn't make you a wise leader.
Wise leaders are coached and willing to be coached. Aha. Now you see the problem. If you're a leader, we advise you to seek wise counsel and coaching. Otherwise, even if you can get people to follow you, they might not want to stick with you for the long haul. Maybe you lack integrity, sensitivity, wisdom, experience, or any number of virtues. A wise (and hopefully direct yet compassionate) coach can help you navigate your blind spots.
Consider receiving wise counsel from someone with a high "D" personality, years of experience honing leadership skills, and a long record of coaching others. That person is Pete. He's all these things, plus he seeks out Julie's perspective when he needs to explore a softer, kinder, yet direct point of view in an interpersonal coaching situation.
Pete didn't become wise in a vacuum. You know where Pete seeks wisdom? From other wise coaches and friends, including his dad (when he was alive), and even those he's never met (yet), like Chuck Swindoll, Dave Ramsey, Andy Stanley, John Maxwell, and Carey Nieuwhof. (In fact, Pete is certified as a life coach through John Maxwell's organization.)
If you're a leader, could you go farther than you've ever gone before? Could you improve your people skills? Could you enjoy life and experience more peace? Yes, you could. Consider coaching with Pete to move forward, stop getting stuck, and unlock your full leadership potential.
